Last week was a busy one, I spent a couple of days in Brighton before heading over to Windsor and then on to London for Traverse. Despite being on the road to Summer, we wasn’t blessed with the best weather hence the gloomy photos. It could’ve been worse but dark skies loomed overhead for the majority of my time in Brighton and Windsor.

During our time in Windsor, my Mum and I stayed in the Macdonald Windsor Hotel which was conveniently right across the street from the castle. Obviously, the biggest attraction in the town is Windsor Castle which is an official royal residence. The Queen actually spends a lot of time at Windsor Castle, she was also there when we were! Although we didn’t see her peering out of any windows!
We made our way to the castle for the Changing of the Guard which takes place almost every day at 11am. I’d certainly recommend getting there early to get a good spot. The Changing of the Guard lasts for about half an hour and features a very cute royal dog! I filmed a lot of the ceremony which will be in my upcoming vlog!

Except for the castle’s grounds and courtyards, you are unable to take any photo’s. The State Rooms, Queen Mary’s Doll House and St.George’s Chapel were all open to view. They all were incredibly beautiful, just take my word for it! If you’d like to see photo’s of the room’s interiors, it’s all on the Windsor Castle website. My favourite was Queen Mary’s Doll’s House which just blew me away with all the intricate and extravagant detailing. The took over three years to design and build by Sir Edwin Lutyens and features cars handmade by Rolls Royce!

After exploring Windsor Castle, we had a wander around the town centre. Windsor is a pretty small town but their shopping is great! The Royal Shopping Centre is attached to the Windsor and Eton railway station and is home to stores such as Kiehl’s, Bobbi Brown and Space:NK. There is also lot’s of cute little quintessentially British pubs located just off the high street, we went in a couple!

Right across from our hotel was the Guildhall which I immediately recognized from the Queen’s 90th Birthday. This was also the location Prince Charles and Camilla got married. I think you can actually go inside but we didn’t have a chance. Further along the high street you’ll find the Long Walk which offers alternative views of Windsor Castle and is just a truly picture perfect sight.

On to my outfit, I wanted something stylish yet comfortable to walk around all day in. I do love me some stripes so I decided on this snazzy number from Boohoo’s Jumpsuit & Playsuit section. It was still pretty chilly out so I opted for a grey roll neck top on underneath and some tan sandals. I also brought along my red raincoat from New Look to wear during the rain showers.

I had a such a lovely time in Windsor and would love to visit again soon. I can’t believe I’ve never been before and it’s only 40 minutes on a train from London. My Mum and I had a great Spring Adventure!
