Gifting Calvin Klein Fragrance Sets

You can never go wrong with gifting fragrances and aftershaves for your loved ones. Notino.co.uk have got a great selection of fragrance gift sets from some great brands such as Hugo Boss, Tiffany & Co, Chloé and of course, Calvin Klein. I’ve picked up these two Calvin Klein Fragrance Sets which include the scents Eternity and Euphoria which are both iconic scents for the brand.

The Eternity Calvin Klein gift set is great value for money as it includes a 100ml bottle and 10ml travel size bottle along with a body lotion. I’m a huge fan with anything that comes with a travel sized one too as it’s great for popping in your handbag and taking it out on the go with you. This scent in an absolute classic and would be perfect for gifting to your Mum or Auntie. If you’ve not tried Calvin Klein Eternity before, the scent is more of a florally one. It has top notes of white lily and Bergamo.

Moving on to the Euphoria scent from Calvin Klein which is another iconic popular perfume for the brand. This also comes in another great gift box which means you don’t really have to wrap it up. It’s already presented so lovely. This gift set includes a 100ml bottle of Euphoria and a body lotion. As you can see the bottle is just iconic and would look lovely on a dressing table. This perfume is a favourite of mine and one that’s great for wearing on a daily basis. It’s got a very feminine feel with notes of Pomegranate, lotus blossom and violet. You won’t go wrong with this one!

Discovering Skin79 & Their Facemasks

Discovering Skin79 & Their Facemasks

I’ve got a new discovery in todays post. A few weeks ago, I picked up a few things from the brand Skin79 which is a Korean skincare brand available on Notino. I’m sure we can all agree that in these winter months our skin can do with a little pick me up especially to take care of dry skin. Skin79 have a range of skincare, haircare and tinted moisturisers. The name Skin79 comes from the fact that 79 in Korean sounds like the word for friends and Skin79 wants to be your skins best friend. The brand’s range is pretty affordable. I picked up a few of their sheet masks and they were all under £1 each! Additionally, I picked up their 24k Gold Hyluaronic Eye Masks which sounded amazing!

Not only are Skin79’s sheet masks ultra affordable, they possibly have the cutest packaging. The ones I got were from the Seoul Girl Beauty Secrets line and all have different scenes from cities. They are so cute! I believe they also have a few other lines of sheet masks such as Fresh range and Animal range!

The four masks I picked up were the Vitalizing, Soothing, Brightening & Anti-Wrinkle. I think this might actually be the full range but these were the only ones available when I ordered them. I actually ordered these at the start of January and have used them once a week to see how I get on. I’d certainly re-purchased them as they were all really moisturising and hydrating. Obviously, easy to use but there was no incidents of the masks sliding down the face. Personally, my favourite one was the Brightening one. To be honest, that’s mostly what I’m looking for in a face mask to have a more brightened complexion and looking more radiant and hydrated. It was my favourite products and also my favourite packaging. How could you not love the illustrations?!

I’m actually going to do a full review of the Hyaluronic Eye Mask in the next couple of weeks but I thought I’d share a few photos. I’ve used them a couple of times and I’d like to see how I get on with them and compare to others similar on the market. It’s a 60pc tub so that’s 30 pairs of eye masks but the thing that sets this aside from similar products is that they have 24k gold in them! Stay tuned for another review where I’ll see if the gold actually does anything.

Am I Going Bald? 10 Telling Signs of Going Bald

Am I Going Bald? 10 Telling Signs of Going Bald

Hair loss can be temporary or permanent. Either way, it can greatly affect the quality of your life. Whether it is due to a medical condition or is caused by hormonal imbalance, the end result is the same- losing hair on your head. If you are in a position where this is permanent and you want to do something about it, then it is worth researching the best age to get a hair transplantand researching whether it is for you.

So, what do you know about baldness? Here are 10 telling signs of going bald:

Your hair is falling out

This is pretty self-explanatory. The excessive shedding of hair is always the first and most common sign of balding. Unfortunately, hair shedding is easy to overlook as a sign of balding because we lose hair in common, daily situations like combing, or holding a tight ponytail. There is also natural hair shedding that occurs when the hair enters its final stages of the growth cycle. Due to this, finding a couple of hair strands on your hairbrush or on the floor does not mean that you are going bald. On the other hand, if the hair is too much that it can fill your shower drain, then it could be one of many hair loss symptoms.

You notice a receding hairline

This is a classic sign of male pattern baldness. Unfortunately, many men may ignore this sign until it gets severe. Most of them do not notice the hairline developing and only begin to see it when hairstyles expose more of their forehead. Sometimes, you may spot an “M-shape” when washing your hair.

A visible hairline

If you once had a head full of thick hair and can suddenly notice your scalp then the only logical explanation is that you are losing hair. Balding can cause even the thickest hair to thin out. The more you lose hair, the more visible your scalp will be.

Random bald spots

As aforementioned, male pattern baldness causes a bald spot on the crown- this is the area at the top of the head. This is often due to alopecia areata; an autoimmune hair loss disorder that straps certain areas of the scalp. The good news is that the hair is bound to grow back after treatment.

Hair takes longer to grow

According to scientific research, the hair on the scalp grows about six inches on a yearly basis. This means that you gain about an inch of hair every few months. Since baldness can affect your hair count, you will find that the hair will take longer to grow. You may also discover that your hair is no longer as thick as it used to be.

Itchy or flaky scalp

An itching scalp does not necessarily mean that you are going through hair loss. The reality is that conditions that cause your scalp to itch may also be related to hair loss. For instance, if you are suffering from a condition called capitis, then you will experience hair loss alongside the itching of your scalp. This can become uncomfortable over time. If you scratch your scalp too hard and suffer from seborrheic dermatitis then you may experience hair loss.

No change to the hair on the sides or back of your head

If you have thicker hair on your head, but you keep losing it only from the top, this is a classic sign of male pattern baldness. This happens most especially when the hair on the sides or the back of your head remains intact and hair loss only happens from the back.

Full-body hair loss

There are conditions like cancer that need treatments like chemotherapy that can result in hair loss all over the body. Therefore, when you lose hair at once and are undergoing a specific type of treatment, then your doctor will advise you on the best way forward in terms of hair growth.

Patches of scaling that spread over the scalp

Usually, these patches and scaling are often accompanied by redness or swelling. In severe cases, oozing is involved and ultimately causes hair loss.

Sudden loosening of hair

The physical or emotional shock causes the loosening of hair during combing or even after gentle tugging. This results in overall thinning of the hair.

The Bottom Line

Going bald is not something that happens in one night. It is a progressive process that happens gradually through the years, and in some cases over decades. Your hair will steadily recede and eventually, the hair on your scalp will get thinner. Depending on your sensitivity, your hair may shed rapidly, or steadily. Regardless of how quick or slow the hair loss process is, you should treat it as quickly as possible so that you can prevent the condition from worsening.

Woodland Fairytale with Chi Chi Clothing

I’m pretty excited to share today’s post as I truly felt like a princess. We all know, I love to dress up and Chi Chi Clothing is perfect for finding gorgeous dresses, a lot of them of which are very girly, elegant and fit for a princess. The Elif Dress got me swishing and twirling about. The tulle skirt is actually perfect on this dress, I’ve found some are quite limp and lifeless to quote Cheryl on the L’Oreal advert. This skirt is full of volume and like I said, perfect for swishing about in.

I’ve seen this heels popping up on Pinterest with big bows around the ankles. When I saw that Chi Chi were selling them, I knew they’d be great to pair with the dress. They aren’t the most comfortable shoes in the world but I guess prancing about in the forestry doesn’t help. I finished the look off with the gorgeous Lady Dior handbag from Uncloset and my trusty Mac lipstick in Ruby Woo. Such a classic.

My Ultimate MUST HAVE Eye Cream

My Ultimate MUST HAVE Eye Cream

Having a strong skincare routine is something that we all need to get right. Whilst many steps in the routine can be considered the most important, the stand out for me is using a decent eye cream. For the last (maybe) 8ish years, there has been one eye cream that has been an absolute staple in my routine. I’ve tried many different brands but this one has remained a strong front runner for the best on the market. The eye cream which I’m talking about is the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream.

I’ve only tried a few skincare products from Bobbi Brown but overall, I’m a huge fan of the beauty products. The Hydrating Eye Cream and also their Eye Make-up Remover are both products I’d 100% recommend. The Hydrating Eye Cream comes in the classic Bobbi Brown packaging with a black lid. It’s pretty sleek packaging and looks lovely up on my dressing table.

As I mentioned, eye creams and gels are such an important part of the skincare routine. Not only do you need to keep the eye area hydrated but keeping on top of looking after the area can decrease the chances of getting fine lines and dark circles. It’s never too early to start incorporating these things into your routine. The eye cream has been an integral part of my routine since my early twenties.

The main promise of the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Cream is that of course, it’s hydrating! For me, it certainly does that job. On application, the cream is super hydrating and refreshing. It just feels so lovely to apply and really cools down the skin. I apply the cream every morning and evening and it’s just a really relaxing part of the routine. Another promise of the cream is to keep the area youthful and gives the skin elasticity. Now, I’m not saying it’s performed any miracles, especially when I’ve got dark circles but I feel like it does a good job of keeping me as youthful as possible.

I’ve got to say I’ve been thoroughly impressed by this cream which is why it’s been a staple in my skincare routine for so long! Have you tried this eye cream before?
