Birthday gift ideas for milestone birthdays

Who can forget their 18th, their 21st or their 40th? Milestone birthdays are extra-special celebrations, so no doubt you’ll want to spend that little bit extra on your loved ones. Even if they are not in the same country as you, you can still spoil them by sending gifts for Europe-based birthdays, showing them that they are always on your mind. So, without further ado, here are birthday gift ideas for those red-letter days.

Jewellery
When celebrating a milestone birthday, fancy jewellery or a designer watch is a sure-fire way to give the gift of something special. As jewellery’s considered a luxury item, people often struggle to justify buying it for themselves, so why not buy it for them?

Surprise your loved one by treating them to a diamond necklace, pearl earrings, or a gold bracelet to remember the occasion. Or perhaps they’ve been eyeing up a specialist watch for months that they’d love to get their hands on.

Whatever you choose, your lucky recipient can wear their new gift every day as a reminder of the occasion and the person who bought it. Jewellery is a long-lasting, sentimental, timeless gift that’s guaranteed to make your loved one smile for many years to come. Not only this, but jewellery is a gift that works for every occasion and is suitable for all ages. It can also be personalised with engraving, making it extra special. But when you purchase such valuable items, taking out jewellery insurance can help protect them in case of any damage, loss or theft.

Weekend away

If you’d rather gift your loved one an experience over an item, splash your cash on gifting them a mini break – the ideal way to celebrate a big birthday. Who doesn’t love reminiscing about that once-in-a-lifetime trip or even just a lovely, relaxing weekend away?

Escaping daily routines to have fun and reconnect with family and friends will always be appreciated. Shared experiences are great for strengthening relationships, and getting away gives everyone the chance to reset. There are plenty of options that won’t break the bank, while still providing life-long memories.

A TOAST TO CELEBRATE

If your loved one is a fan of raising a glass to life’s big moments, why not gift them something special to sip on? Selecting a fine wine, premium whiskey, or their favourite bubbly can make the occasion even more memorable. These days, shopping at an Online Liquor Store offers a hassle-free way to explore a wide selection of drinks, from rare vintages to curated gift sets. Pairing the bottle with thoughtful accessory, like engraved glassware or a stylish wine opener can make the gesture feel even more personal. After all, a well-chosen drink isn’t just a gift – it’s a memory shared over a heartfelt toast.

Engraved perfume bottle

If your friend or family member enjoys a spritz of perfume or aftershave, an engraved bottle of their favourite fragrance is a gift that your recipient can treasure forever. You can engrave their name, their birth date, or a quote on their bottle as a personalised gifting option. Perfumers now offer this as an in-store service, or they can be ordered online. And getting the bottle gift wrapped will literally provide an extra layer of excitement when the lucky person receives it.

Take the Day Off With Clinique

Take the Day Off With Clinique

Wouldn’t it be nice to take the day off, quite literally. Sadly, the closest thing to that would be removing the days stresses from your skin using Clinique’s hero product; Take the Day Off. Personally, when it comes to removing make-up using a cleansing balm is an absolute must. I find that the balms really get into the skin and remove all the dirt, make-up yet still leave your skin feeling nourished and refreshed. Usually, I do double cleanse with the second cleanser being a water based one. The Cleansing Balm of choice at the moment has been the Clinique Take the Day Off.

The Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing Balm comes in a purple tub in a similar style to other products from the brand. As I said before, a Cleansing Balm is my got-to product to really get a full face of make-up removed and all the other grime that could be lurking on my skin. The Take the Day off Cleansing Balm once worked into the skin really lifts and melts the products then making it super easy to remove with a wet cloth.

I always measure how good a cleansing balm is by how efficient it can remove eyeliner, mascara and eye shadows and this passes the test. I’d say around 90% of product gets removed in the first cleanse around the eyes. It’s also worth mentioning it’s very gentle for around the eye area. I do have sensitive eyes so this factor is a must for me. The product also has quite a muted scent so that’s also a positive when using especially around the eyes.

Another factor you don’t want with any cleansing product and that is for it to dry out your skin. I’ve not had any problems with this and whilst it’s obviously not the most hydrating product, when used with the Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser, you’ve got an excellent combo. I really do need to try out a few more Clinique skincare products as there is always good things said about them. Let me know in the comments if you have any recommendations.

Have you tried Clinique’s Take The Day Off?

Peter Pan Collar & a Fringed Backpack

Peter Pan Collar & a Fringed Backpack

Okay, so I’m seriously loving this Oasis floral dress which I spotted on the House Of Fraser website. You might have seen this dress in my Friends Fest post but I’ve been wearing it non-stop. Don’t worry, I have washed it! I couldn’t wait to share this dress with you guys as it’s just mega cute. I’m a total sucker when it comes to anything with a peter pan collar. It’s also a brilliant transitional piece for going into Autumn. It can work with a pair of black tights and a leather jacket, as well as being worn on the occasional warm day. These warm days are probably not coming back though, it’s hard to believe that I wore this dress without a jacket just a week ago. Right now, I’m in bed with a jumper and three blankets. It’s official, winter is coming.

I also need to mention my brand new backpack from La Redoute. This is another piece that I’m currently obsessing over. I usually grab my Longchamp backpack but dare I say it… I think it’s going to be replaced with this.

I hope you liked today’s post. I know I’ve been lacking recently with fashion posts but I was feeling quite lost with that side of my blog. Over the weekend, I shot a couple of outfits (including this one) and now I’m really excited to show you them all. September is the start of the year for some and I’m using it to set some blogging goals and targets. YouTube is another goal I have set.

Three Hair Products to use with a Dyson Airwrap

Three Hair Products to use with a Dyson Airwrap

Back in August, I was very lucky to receive one fo the most coveted hair items; a Dyson Airwrap as a Birthday present. Sadly, I’ve not been overly thrilled with the results. I have spent A LOT of time trying to perfect my technique. I’m sure you’ll have seen all the different videos on social media of people using it in different ways and with different products. I think the main problem with my hair is that it’s very long and also very silky and soft which can hinder the process. However, I have tried a few curly hair products which I’ve seen a big difference when using the Airwrap.

John Frieda Dream Curls Mousse

The John Frieda Dream Curls Mousse was the turning product for me. This is where I really saw a difference with how my hair held it’s volume and curls after using the Airwrap. I applied the mousse on damp hair after I’d just washed it. It’s also worth mentioning that I also use a heat defence spray too as although the Airwrap uses cooler air, you still need protection. I’d be interested to try some more products from the John Frieda Dream Curls collection as I really was a big fan of the mousse!

TIGI Bed Head Small Talk Stylizer

Another product which I have tried recently is the TIGI Bed Head Small Talk Stylizer. This was recommended on TikTok but I was slightly dubious. This product promises to be a “Thickifier” and “Stylizer” which really did just mean adds volume. The Airwrap does a good job of lifting my hair and adding volume and I think this product really amplifies it. Again, this product needs to be used on damp hair. This is more of a cream formula but I personally wouldn’t use with the mousse. It would be too much!

Olaplex No7 Bonding Oil

Olaplex is probably one of the reasons that my hair is so soft and smooth and potentially could be hindering Airwrapping my hair. I do use No3, No4 & No5 but usually about every fortnight. However, it’s the No7 Bonding Oil which I think its a great product to use to prep the hair. I’ve never been keen on using oils as I though it would be sticky business. This is completely mess free though and I’ll use on damp hair to revive my ends. I haven’t had my hair cut in forever so my ends aren’t brilliant but this helps so much with that. I wouldn’t say it actively helps keep volume and curls with the Airwrap but it’s an excellent product to prep with.

I’d love to hear if you have any tips for Airwrapping your hair. Have you used any of these products? Do you have any other products that you can’t live without?
